A supermarket is a place accessed by a large number of population making it a public place where access and mobility governs a major role in planning of the structure. Thus the form and function should be one and must be in a spiritual union so that the user finds no difficulty in accessing each corner of the building making it a barrier free design. The relation of a building to its function is made schematic and less formal to produce good architecture and thus we have evolved our concept from one of the simplest yet creative form of art ‘ORIGAMI’. The form is attained in such a way that it fulfills the requirements of an ideal supermarket with ambient number of openings and shade. Also the structure is transformed into aesthetically appealing form with massing inspired from origami in context with the site and sun path creating a beautiful space for the user.
